PR & events - stakeholder & community engagement
Our PR team was chosen to deliver the PR and event management for 'know more' - a large high profile engagement event in Liverpool city centre to raise awareness about support services available for 10-25 year olds struggling with drugs and alcohol issues, as well as their parents and families. The underlying aim was to support sustainable behaviour change around these challenging issues.
We took the lead in managing 20 partner organisations, plus performers, staging, sound equipment, furniture hire and public event planning. Our PR team also developed and co-ordinated a full PR strategy to attract people to the event, including press releases, a media opportunity, radio advertising and articles on a range of community websites.
Throughout the day, large crowds of young people and their parents were drawn by this engagement event. More than 600 people took the first step to behaviour change, by interacting with support workers to access information and advice on drugs and alcohol misuse.
Post-event news coverage was also achieved in all of the main local print, online and broadcast media, supported by interviews and feature discussions on local radio stations throughout National Tackling Drugs Week. Our PR team's excellent national media relationships secured a series of national feature articles, equating to a very high return on investment – an excess of £19,500 in media space for £2,000 of PR consultancy time.
